The Force & Karma

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008
Background
This lovely couple could not have been more fated from one another from the start. Karma, ultimately about balance and cause and effect, attracts like-minded The Force. Karma is much more active than many would think. In fact, most mortals think of Karma merely passive and fatalistic, but they could not be more wrong. In fact, this is the mere difference between these two immortals which causes the tension in their relationship. Karma tends to intercede more into human affairs, ensuring that balance. The Force tends to be drawn upon and pulsate ever-so-slightly in the background until drawn upon. This is likely the one thing that this couple argues about — that and mitichlorian testing.
Probability of Happiness
Karma is a tough mistress, since she is all about action - but yet this pair is likely to have a longstanding relationship.

Kismet & Highlander

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Background

This unlikely pairing came about as a result of less than pure chance. It’s awfully hard when you’re some of the few immortal themes or people to have not at least known of one another. Often people mistake Kismet as fate only, without understanding the lyrical quality ensconced therein. The origin of the concept of Kismet comes from the Turkish word via Arabic, qismah, meaning lot or portion, however, the shade of meaning in modern culture implies a certain level of serendipity and playfulness within that fated future. What Kismet didn’t count on was her encounter with Highlander and where that would lead her.

Highlander, as you know, is an immortal Scotsman, and his passion and power brought Kismet to him as a moth to flame. His knowledge of swords and metallurgy attracts the lighter spirit of Kismet. Kismet allows for Highlander to encounter those upon the path needed to encounter to be the final and ultimate hero, ensuring their love can last.

Probability of Happiness

This couple is likely to be quite happy for a long time, assuming that Kismet doesn’t slay Highlander with her love. While Highlander is avowed to eradicate evil, Kismet is more pragmatic and understands that fate contains both good and bad within her hands. Still, Highlander’s motto is “there can be only one” and he feels this same way about his love, Kismet.

Additional Information

Information about Highlander character Connor MacLeod, and rumors about the extent of the tv and film series continue to be discussed.
